Ukraine says its people are dying because of 'global indecision'. Ukraine made the comments after Germany put on hold a decision to supply Ukraine with Leopard tanks to bolster Kiev's fighting capabilities against Russia. As for Ukraine, more people in their country are dying because of this indecision. Al-Jazeera news
"Today's indecision is killing more of us," Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podoliak tweeted on Saturday. The longer the delay, the greater the number of Ukrainian deaths. Think fast.'
Last Friday, about 50 countries agreed to supply heavy military weapons worth several billion dollars to Ukraine. These include armored vehicles and munitions. The aid is being given to help Kiev fight off an onslaught of Russian forces.
Germany is under considerable pressure to supply tanks in the Russia-Ukraine war. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said, 'We cannot yet say when a decision will be made and what the decision will be. This question has arisen after talking about the Leopard tank.'
Ukraine wants German-made Leopard-2 tanks. Several allies have echoed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in saying that Germany's tanks are essential in a war with a far more powerful neighbor than Ukraine.
Yesterday Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Ringkevics tweeted a joint statement by the foreign ministers of the three Baltic states. There they called on Germany to 'provide Leopard tanks to Ukraine now'. "This is needed to stop Russian aggression, help Ukraine and quickly restore peace in Europe," Rinkevics said in a tweet. As a major power in Europe, Germany has a special responsibility in this regard.

Germany is now taking a cautious approach to sending tanks to Ukraine or allowing other countries to supply German-made tanks.
According to reports earlier this week, Germany will agree to send the Leopard-2 if the US also supplies them with Abrams tanks. Washington, however, has indicated that providing the Abrams tank will not work because of training and maintenance difficulties.
Last Friday, 50 countries led by the US gathered at the Ramstein air base in Germany for the Ukraine Contact Group meeting. Before the meeting, it was expected that Germany would agree to supply Leopard tanks to Ukraine, but this did not happen.
