Elon Musk, the head of the company, announced a major change on Twitter. From now on, users can watch ad-free tweets by subscribing with money. Elon Musk announced the change in a few tweets last Saturday. Ever since Elon Musk bought Twitter last October, the company has been in a state of financial uncertainty. In the meantime, Twitter announced the change.
Elon Musk wrote in a tweet, 'Twitter shows frequent and large ads. Actions will be taken to resolve the issue in the coming weeks. Those who do not want to see ads, will have the opportunity to use Twitter without ads by spending more money.
Adding an ad-free subscription feature to Twitter will be seen as a major change in the company's business model. Because, for so long, Twitter only depended on the model of showing specific ads for its income. Earlier, the verified subscription facility was launched in mid-December last year. Elon Musk's plan to monetize Twitter ads has recently come under question. After Elon Musk bought Twitter, more than half of the company's 750,000 employees lost their jobs. Now there are doubts whether the organization will be able to do the editing work properly with a small number of staff. So many advertisers have moved away from Twitter.
Elon Musk said the strategy he has adopted will reduce costs and increase revenue for the company.
