Russia's Intensification of Attacks, Help Ukraine Seeks from the West

Russian forces in Ukraine have launched an intense offensive. Ukraine has stressed the need for rapid arms supplies from the West to build resistance.

This information was confirmed by the General Staff of the Army of Ukraine on Monday evening. Reuters news.

A Russian missile attack in the central city of Dnipro has killed 40 people in an apartment and Ukrainian troops are advancing eastward, according to reports.

The General Staff of Ukraine's army said Russian artillery was attacking about 25 towns and villages around Bakhmut and Avdika, two focal points of Russian efforts to advance into the strategic eastern industrial Donbass region.

He also said Russia shelled more than 30 settlements in northeastern Kharkiv and Sumy areas near the border. In the south, Russian mortar and artillery fire hit several cities, including the regional capital Kherson, which Russian forces abandoned in November.

However, Reuters was unable to verify the battlefield reports.
