Countries whose citizens were on the plane that crashed in Nepal

The Yeti Airlines plane lost control in mid-air. The plane crashed soon after.

  A total of 72 people were on board the plane that         crashed at Nepal's Pokhara International Airport.         Most of them were citizens of Nepal. Apart from         this, there were 15 citizens of 7 other countries in         the aircraft. So far, 68 bodies have been recovered       from the plane crash.

  According to a report by the media NDTV, there          were 68 passengers and 4 crew among the 72                passengers of the aircraft. 53 of them are Nepalese.      Apart from this, there were five citizens of India, four of Russia, one of Ireland, two of Korea, one of Argentina, one of Australia and one of France.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) said the Yeti Airlines flight left Kathmandu for Pokhara at 10:33 am on Sunday. Before landing at Pokhara, it crashed in the old airport and in the forest on the banks of the Seti River near Pokhara Airport. The accident happened about 20 minutes after the plane took off. It takes 25 minutes to travel from Kathmandu to Pokhara by plane.

A local official said that the plane caught fire immediately after the crash. Rescue operations are underway. Pokhara International Airport has been closed for now.

Earlier in May last year, a Tara Air plane crashed in Nepal, killing all 22 passengers. Among the 22 passengers, 16 were Nepalese, 4 were Indian and 2 were German nationals.

In March 2018, a US-Bangla Airlines flight crashed at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport, killing 51 people on board.
