The attack on a residential building in Dnipro on Saturday (January 14) evening was the deadliest attack in Ukraine since the Russian offensive began last February, Stephanie Temble told reporters. The Secretary-General condemned the attack, saying it was another example of violation of the laws of war.

Denis Brown, the UN coordinator in Ukraine, called for effective investigations into suspected war crimes and bringing suspects to justice. The death toll from Monday's attack in Dnipro rose to 40 after more bodies were recovered from the rubble of a partially collapsed Soviet-style apartment building.
